Sept. 24 – As the media begins to focus on farm and food policy in the congressional race between Josh Riley and Marc Molinaro, it’s more important than ever to look at who is funding the campaign of each candidate. While Josh Riley refuses PAC money, Republican Congressman Marc Molinaro is raking in campaign contributions from the very companies price gouging consumers, including Tyson, Walmart, PepsiCo, Wakfern Food Corp., The Mosaic Company, McDonald’s, and Syngenta.

In response, Laura Shindell, New York State Director at Food & Water Action, released the following statement:

“While Congressman Marc Molinaro was taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from companies like Tyson, McDonald’ks, and Pepsi, these corporations were taking millions of dollars from New York voters. Molinaro isn’t just in cahoots with the companies that have raised our food prices, his campaign is funded by them. This much is clear: we can’t trust Marc Molinaro to fight for a fair, affordable food system.”
